Cathedral Grove is here
This pattern is one of my favourites. I was inspired by the magnificent Cathedral Grove Provincial Park on Vancouver Island, but as the pattern came together it became more than an homage to Douglas Firs and had become a gothic splendour.
This is a great Fall knit. It looks amazing and is easy to knit up while binge watching Netflix. So often lace requires lots of concentration, this one is a simple repeat that looks much more complicated than it is. My favourite kind of pattern. It’s also a lace pattern that really wants to be blocked! The middle picture of the teal scarf is the the same garment as the teal scarf on the mannequin.
I love the picot edge on this, it reminds of light snowfall on trees. But if you want something a little simpler you can forgo the provisional cast on and use your preferred cast on and 3 extra rows of garter stitch, with the same when you cast off. You will still get a lovely scalloped edge from the lace pattern.
You can buy Cathedral Grove for $6.00 USD and it’s available on Ravelry, Payhip and Lovecrafts. Drop me a line if you have any questions!
